USUI SHIKI RYOHO REIKI
The term, “Reiki,” refers to both a type of energy as well as a system for tapping into that energy.
“Reiki” – the energy – is the common denominator of all living things, plants, animals, and people. It is our alive-ness, our vitality. Some words used to describe it are Universal Life Force Energy, Ki, Chi, and prana. Reiki facilitates well being, balance, and relaxation on all levels.
The system of “Reiki” is simple yet powerful. By learning the principles, precepts, and techniques of the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of Reiki, you can effectively incorporate Reiki into your life, supporting feelings of good health, inspiration, and wellbeing for yourself and for others.
In Reiki training, you will receive a series of energy attunements, which assist you in directly accessing this Universal Life Force Energy through your hands. By learning Reiki, you can take a more active role in your own health and wellness and be able to help family, friends, and animals in new ways. Anyone can learn Reiki!
Reiki Classes - Descriptions

Prerequisites:
- Your willingness and desire to learn about Reiki.
That's the only requirement!
Anyone can learn Reiki.
In the first-degree Reiki class:
- You will receive four attunements, which activate your ability to use Reiki.
- You will learn about both the system of Reiki and the energy of Reiki, as well as the lineage that will be passed on to you.
- Plenty of time will be spent in actual practice, which will allow you to experience the flow of this healing energy through your hands and become comfortable and confident with its application.
- By the end of the first-degree class, you will have the skills, knowledge, & empowerments to provide hands-on Reiki treatments for yourself as well as others, using traditional hand positions.
- Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified as a Reiki First- Degree/Shoden level practitioner in the style of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki system, and a certificate will be awarded.
- You will receive a Reiki textbook, class manual, additional class resources, and my support as your Reiki Teacher following class.
- You will be eligible to audit future classes for no charge.

Prerequisites:
- Your willingness and desire to further your Reiki practice and studies.
- Successful completion of in-person Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki first degree training. If you have completed first degree with another teacher, a copy of your certificate and a short interview will be required at time of registration..
- It is highly recommended that you allow a minimum of 21 days after receiving your first degree attunements before obtaining your second degree attunements.
REQUIRED MATERIALS: In the second degree of Reiki: Textbook: Foundations of Reiki Ryoho A Manual of Shoden and Okuden by Nicholas Pearson. If you took my First Degree Reiki course, this book was given to you in class.
In the second degree of Reiki:
- You expand your ability to allow Reiki to flow through your hands with three more attunements.
- You will learn three Usui Reiki symbols (the power symbol, the mental/emotional symbol, and the distance symbol) and how to use them.
- You will learn to send Reiki over distance, beyond time and space to people around the globe and to situations/events in the past or future.
- You will receive three attunements, which further reinforce your ability to use Reiki.
- You will experience the healing powers of Reiki on a deeper level and learn level II healing techniques used in Reiki.
- Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified as a Reiki Second Degree/Okuden level practitioner in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of Reiki, and a certificate will be awarded.
- You will receive a Reiki textbook, (Transmissions of Light), class manual, additional class resources, and my support as your Reiki Teacher following class.
- You will be eligible to audit future classes for no charge.

Prerequisites:
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in practice and understanding of spiritual concepts in the system of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki.
- Successful completion of in-person Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki first- and second-degree training. If you have completed first and/or second degrees with another teacher, a copy of your certificates and a short interview will be required.
- Candidates for this training must sit for an interview to discuss their practice and determine the subjects comprising your individual course of study.
In first- and second-degree classes, information given is in a structured format, giving teachings passed down through the lineage as directed in the style of Usui Shiki Ryoho. In other words, the curriculum is pretty much set on specific topics and presented following traditional formats.
At master level, third degree. the course presentation will be much different, in many ways and much more similar to that taught by Usui-sensei in which the course subjects and teaching methods will be individually tailored to your needs, interests, and learning style.
Of course, there will be certain information and practices passed down through the lineage that will compose the baseline information of third degree. But mastery goes so much beyond that, and every master has their own style, their own interests, and their own ways. And, your master class will be geared especially towards your goals.
This training is not for someone who has merely a casual interest in Reiki or who wishes to take third degree for the sake of being able to say they are a “Reiki master.” This is for the serious student/practitioner/seeker who desires to deepen their connection to and understanding of Reiki energy, regardless of whether the goal is to deepen your connection and understanding of Reiki energy exclusively for use in your own life or whether you desire to continue on as a teacher and/or use Reiki in your professional life as well.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified as a Reiki Shinpiden practitioner/Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of Reiki, and a certificate will be awarded.
Tuition: $375.00 – prepayment is required a minimum of 1 week prior to class to reserve your spot.

The beauty of the system of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki is that the attunement is easy to transfer from teacher to student, the student immediately has the ability to tap-in to Reiki energy, and the system is simple to learn. In Usui’s time, the training was much more extensive, with the curriculum being tailored to the individual students’ needs. The one-day format for each level of training is something that was initiated by Dr. Hayashi and used also by Mrs. Takata, and it serves us well in terms of time, costs, and travel.
However, it’s a lot to take in for a one-day seminar and often new practitioners are left to figure things out on their own, which can feel daunting. This is something that has always bothered me.
So, I am now offering all my students the opportunity to audit, at no charge, classes they have previously taken. Class audits are available only to students who have previously trained with me and only for those classes the student has already taken.
While this won't provide further certifications (since you will already have been certified in the subject level), it will allow you to fully participate in a class, receive Reiju, and get further instruction to support your previously taken class.
You can elect to attend the whole class or just part of the class, whatever serves your needs best. For partial classes, I ask that you choose to attend either the morning session or the afternoon session, so as to not disrupt the flow of the class. Whether you are attending the whole day or a half day, you are welcome to join us for lunch.

I offer private mentoring sessions for Reiki practitioners at all levels and from any Reiki lineage or practice style. If you’ve taken a Reiki class and felt that you needed more than the one-day seminar, this is for you. Common reasons Reiki practitioners participate in mentoring programs include:
- Deepening your knowledge of Reiki.
- Developing and strengthening your personal practice.
- Building confidence and developing core skills.
- Incorporating Reiki into your lifestyle.
- Establishing a Reiki practice.
- Guidance for specific treatment situations.
During a Reiki mentoring session we will come together to create a space for you to dive deeper into your practice. These sessions are completely tailored to your exact areas of interest. Whether you are looking to deepen your practice, learn more about Reiki, start a Reiki business, incorporate Reiki into your lifestyle, or become a teacher, mentorship can support you.
Mentoring sessions are preferably conducted in person as 1-hour or 2-hour one-on-one sessions, although I am open to considering Zoom meetings as well. To schedule a mentoring session, please call me and we can discuss the details and schedule an appointment. There is no minimum number of sessions required. You decide the extent of support you are looking for.
For practitioners who have trained with me and have been certified by me, this support is presented on a love-offering basis. Please note: I am still always available to answer questions and discuss aspects of Reiki with my students; that has not changed! For my students, the offer of mentoring is just an additional in-depth service available for you.
For practitioners who have studied with other teachers, I offer mentoring for a fee of $65.00 per hour. If you have been attuned to Reiki through another teacher, a copy of your certificate will be required to participate in these mentoring sessions.
From the moment I received my first treatment, I have loved Reiki. Learning Reiki has nourished me and helped me discover my path in life. Teaching Reiki has expanded my capacity to work with this beautiful energy, and it is my sincerest desire to share this with everyone who wants to explore their own connection to the Life Force Energy that is within all of us and available to each and every one of us as our natural birth right.
