I know that your trust and safety are now even more important as you consider your health and well-being options. I have made some important updates to my policies and procedures to safeguard the health and safety of my clients and myself under the current circumstances.
Scheduling and service reductions: I will be operating at a reduced capacity, staggering appointments so there will be no client “over-laps.” Please arrive for your appointment at the scheduled time. If someone accompanies you, they will need to either remain in your car during your appointment or leave and come back. There will be no areas designated for people to wait.
Face masks and other PPE: Please wear a mask to your session and upon entering the building. You will be asked to wear a mask in common areas. If you do not have a mask, I can provide you with one. You will be given the option of wearing the mask during your treatment. I will be wearing a mask at all times. Upon your request, I will wear gloves during your treatment. Therapist uniforms and PPEs will be changed between each session to avoid cross contamination.
Symptom-free client confirmation: Please wash your hands before and after your appointment. At each visit, you will be given a brief health questionnaire to complete and temperature taken. Anyone with temperatures of 100 degrees or over will not be treated. Most importantly, if you or someone you have been in contact with is experiencing fever, cough, loss of smell/taste, body aches, or other flu-like symptoms, PLEASE do not come in. Unfortunately, if you arrive with any such symptoms, even if you feel you can attribute them to allergies, you will not be treated. Cancellation fees are being completely waived for COVID-19 related concerns at this time.
Symptom-free therapist policy: I will continue to wash my hands and forearms before and after each session. I will take my own daily temperature daily and will chart the readings, which will be available for client review. Should I develop any flu-like symptoms, I will cancel all appointments. Should I be informed that I have been exposed to someone who has tested positive or has been in close proximity to someone who has tested positive, I will immediately cancel all appointments, self-quarantine, and get tested. Should my test results come back positive, I will follow all instructions given by our local health department to facilitate contact tracing and clients potentially exposed will be notified.
Sanitation and required procedures: I will continue to follow the strictest of cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitation procedures. All linens, towels, and blankets will be replaced and all surfaces and product bottles thoroughly disinfected with hospital-grade cleaners between each client (this is not a change from previous practices). Common areas, door knobs, and restrooms will also be disinfected between each client. Windows will be open and fans run between client sessions to exchange the air in the room. Shower facilities can be made available to the client after treatment upon request. HEPA air filter with UV light will be run. I have also undergone additional infection prevention training.
Contact tracing in case of exposure: You are asked to agree to notify me if you are exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and/or if you, yourself, test positive within 30 days of your treatment date. Your identifying information will be kept confidential. In such an event, I will immediately close our facility for 14 days, and I will alert other clients of the possible potential exposure. At no time will I provide any identifying information to others, except as may be required by law.
How can I better serve you?: This is an unprecedented time in our lives, and we are all being challenged with the task of sifting through mountains of statistics, stories, research, and ever-changing data from multiple sources, all in an effort to protect ourselves, our loved ones, our community, and our world. I’ve given careful thought to precautions that I can take and procedures I can implement to assure your safety and well being in the setting of my massage and bodywork practice. Please know that I am also quite open to any suggestions, recommendations, and requests you may have to improve our safety practices.
These policies may be amended and revised as deemed necessary.
